The Sailing World Cup – Melbourne 2016 is Final to the 2016 Sailing World Cup Series that started in Melbourne in December 2015. This series is the pinnacle Olympic sailing series for professional sailors who will have recently competed in the 2016 Rio Olympic Games and have a focus for Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games.
Now in its seventh year, the Sailing World Cup – Melbourne is well established as a world-class fixture in Victoria’s summer of sailing. Showcasing the best of the best, the Sailing World Cup – Melbourne is the premier annual event for Olympic class sailing in the Southern Hemisphere.
Over the 7day event, Sailing World Cup - Melbourne on average attracts close to 10,000 people, whether it be to compete, support, spectate or engage in a number of on & offshore related activities.
Royal Melbourne Yacht Squadron is proud to be the official host Club of the SWC Final. With a history of over 140 years, RMYS is one of the oldest yacht clubs in Victoria with a long list of historical firsts including hosting the 1956 Olympic Games.
